Khi nào chúng ta nên sử dụng từ "should - ought to - must?
JJ Khi nào chúng ta nên sử dụng từ "should - ought to - must?
JJ mình muốn hỏi là: trong trường hợp nào nên dùng từ should, trường hợp nào dùng từ ought to, trường hợp nào dùng từ must.
Lê Thị Ánh Nguyệt 1. We often use SHOULD and OUGHT TO in the following situations,we often use SHOULD to say in common.

a. "SHOULD" means that it would be a good thing to do or when we say what we think is the good and right thing to do.
b. When we ask for or give an opinion about something: I think(don't think;do you think)the government sould do something about the economy... ( I don't think you should work so hard; Do you think I should apply for this job?).
c. To say something is not right or not what we expect: Almost of the prices in the market is wrong.It should be lower.
d.For the past we use SHOULD HAVE DONE to say that someone did the wrong thing: I'm felling sick.I should not have eaten so much chocolate.( It was a great party.You ought to have come; You look tired you ought not to drive.).
d. To say that something will probably happen : I don't think you'll be late .You should be home at the usual time.
She's been studying very hard,so she ought to pass her examination( she should pass her examination.).
e. IF...SHOULD: an unwanted imagining action to be possibly happening in the future.:If you should see Tom,can you tell him to phone me?; If it should rain,can you please! help me bring in the washing from the garden?.
f. We use SHOULD after these verbs : suggest ; propose ; recommend ; insist ; demand.( She demanded that I should apologise to her ; They insisted that we should have dinner with them : What do you suggest we should do?).
g. We use SHOULD after these adjectives: important ; strange ; funny ; natural ; surprised ; essential ; odd ; typical ; interesting ; surprising...: It's strange that he should be the green member here.He's usualy studying very hard..
2. We use MUST and HAVE TO in these following situations:

a. To say that it's necessary to do something.Often it doesn't matter which you use: It's later than I thought.I must (have to)go home now ; You must(have to)have a passport to visit most foreign countries.
b. We can only use MUST to talk about the present and future: We must go now. ; Must you leave tomorrow ?.
c. MUST NOT DO SOMETHING means it's necessary that you don't do it.: I promised,I mustn't tell anyone what you said...; I stayed very late in bed this morning ,I mustn't be very lazy same as the lying cat like that instead of raising..
