5 steps to speak a new language
Hi there!
In the previous days, I was read the topic wich is in the same this topic. Today, I want to discuss again it. I think that it is useful for you who want to improve your English skills. Thanks Mr Hung for your sharing!
First of all, Before starting to learn a language which is not your mother tounge, you should have a your clear goal. Why do you learn english? When do you become a master in the field? And the more important thing, you will be losed a lot of chances and prevented in the success by english. Therefore, you have to determine clearly your goal. Your goal is one of most important parts of learning english.
I want to tallk about reading technique which is described in the book. " I can't understand information which is witten in the text, the news and so on because I don't have much my vocabulary". You think. Don't worry! How many words do you need in order to understand it? According to Mr Hung's opinion, there are about 3000 words which is called core vocabulary. what is core vocablary? And how do you build core vocabulary? The core vocabulary is word which you will meet over and over again when you read a text. If you have core vocabulary, you can understand 80-90 percent author's message. It is Pareto principle which you have ever learned before. You can log on website http://wordcount.org/ to check the ranking word which you want to know.
In order to building core vocabulary, you have to need two things: the reading material and dictionnary. A good dictionary will support for looking for the word which you don't kwow its meaning. I think that it is more appropriate than to read a doccument in your computer. If you read a english book by your computer, your reading speed is better than. You should use a soft dictionnary.
I will come back this topic. As you see, my writting has a lot of mistakes. Please tell me about that. Thank you for your comments!
