the whole of something = all of it: toàn bộ, toàn thể... cái gì.
Thay vì dùng "the whole of + the + noun/noun phrase", chúng ta có thể dùng đơn giản là
"the whole + noun/noun phrase" => singular countable noun/uncountable noun
The whole of the house was on fire.
= The whole house was on fire.
* làm chủ từ: mang chức năng của một ngữ danh từ.
The whole of September will be about what works and what doesn't.
** làm túc từ (có hoặc không có giới từ đứng trước tùy từng trường hợp).
