A waitress serves food.

A computer programmer programs computers.

An accountant manages money.

Look and listen:

A web site designer designs web site.

A taxi driver drives a taxi.

An architect designs buildings.

A singer sings songs.

Read and repeat:

Did you know that many of these jobs end in "er"? That means the person who does that. Let's make a list:

Teacher

Singer

Writer

Manager

Police officer

Waiter

Computer programmer

Taxi driver

Allright. So these're ending "er". There are some that end in "or" and we saw some of these:

Director

Doctor

Actor

And that are some end in "ist". The same idea the person who does the job and we saw:

Artist

Dentist

Scientist

Psychologist

Ok. Now again we have...these are people who do the jobs. Now assistants, can you think of some other names of ob job like this.

Let's start with Lisa.

A dancer.

Now what does the dancer do?

A dancer dances.

Yeah.

Alix.

A football player.

What does the football player do?

He plays football.

Anymore. Alix.

Yes, very good. So it's in this list. Allright, thank you very much. That was very good.

Job vocabulary pronunciation:

Now, let's work on pronunciation. In English, like other languages we tend to say our words together. For example, let's use this sentence:

A taxi driver drives a taxi.

So, one by one, a taxi driver drives a taxi. But, we put it together, it sounds like this, don't write it like this:

A taxi driver drive za taxi.

So, these go together. This is close to sound, only.

Allright, let's look at another one:

A manager mangages an office.

So, a a manager manages an office. But the sound is like this:

A manager manage zan office. So these go together.

Allright. Now, let's do some practices and we'll see what some other sentences looks like.

Here's one:

An artist draws pictures.

An engineer designs technical projects.

A police officer protects people.

Allright, here's another one:

A sales assistant sells things.

An actor acts.

And finally. An accountant manages money.
